How to be happy

Let's stay at STAY!

Copenhagen. Still mentioned high on my 'must visit'-list. If I finally have booked a plane ticket to the high north, I'd definitely consider to stay at STAY. Yep, a hotel (with apartments!) named STAY, filled with beautiful furniture designed by Danish design company Hay. Why book an expensive hotel when you can have a whole apartment for the same price! See for yourself:

I'm back!

Aargh .. Construction workers cut our internet and television cable on Monday while working and we've been without internet and tv the whole week .. But fear not, everything is restored so I can spoil you again with some goodies. Stay tuned tomorrow!

I've found this light and airy loft via AprilandMay
Beautiful place. I could move in any minute now!
(and I would totally steal the Eames-chair of the last picture!)

Sneak Peek; Art Nouveau in Antwerp

As a fellow Belgian, i'm always happy to discover beautiful interiors in Belgium. Sometimes it seems that all the amazing houses appear in the Scandinavian countries. But not today! Today I'm sharing a beautiful Art Nouveau home in Antwerp, owned by graphic designer Davy Dooms. His main color palette was white, black, brown, grey and orange. He also updated the bedroom suite; he replaced the bathtub with a walk-in-shower, installed a new sink and painted all the walls white. A perfect new start. (but do put some artwork on your wall next time, Davy!)

In my giftbox: Flip Around table

Look what I've found and what I would love to have! One can always use an extra tray table.
Designed by Norm Architects, this 'Flip Around table' has a timeless design and is multifunctional.
The pictures speak for themselves and almost scream 'buy me'!

Kex Hostel in Reykjavik

Moving stress

How quickly times passes by! Seriously, 3 april already? Time has gone so quickly the last few days with us moving into our brand new home. Ha, but we love it! It’s such an improvement from our previous rental.

We went from this:

To this:

Of course, still a lot of work to do (when I say a lot, I mean, a lot!):
*treat and paint walls (but the plaster has to be completely dry first)
*arrange stairs to the attic
*choosing curtains
*choose adequate lightning
*remove the two big humps of dirt in our backyard
*level the garden
*designing the garden
*add a terrace so we can quickly enjoy the good weather
*waiting for the city to approve our building permit for our carport/bike room/storage room (which will be build in cedar. Lovely! Too bad we have to wait 4 months!)
*treating the cedar so we can enhance the natural process of ‘greying’ and we don’t have to wait 10 years for it to achieve a beautiful grey without stains.

So, do not worry, you’ll get to see plenty of pictures of our process. Yes, I still have to take pictures of how the inside looks currently. But in the meantime, here’s some other eye candy so you get paid for waiting :)
